I Miss You (Interlude)

On August 4th, 1976, in Dominican Republic
Was born my mother Daquia Jimenez to a family of five including her
With no father figure in the picture
My grandmother did all she could to provide for her family
Through all that she did
The greatest provisions she gave my mother were her faith in Christ and the character of a warrior
And that's exactly what my mother grew up to be
She maintained herself in Christ her whole life
Through that she met my father and created her own family of five

Though they were both in Christ a divorce still happened
Through that God revealed his glory and brought us all to the US
My brothers and I went with our father but that didn't stop my mom from fighting like the warrior she was
It only gave her a reason to be strong in God and fight harder
Through faith and patience my two brothers came back to her but I remained with my father
Being the warrior she was her mentality was God I trust what you said
And if you said it it will come to pass
So every day for a year my mom would set a 4th plate at the dinner table
And tell my brothers that I would soon be eating with them and that's where I was gonna sit
After that year
That's exactly where I was sitting
Because of her faith and patience
I got to spend the last seven years of her life learning how to be warrior like she was
And how to maintain in Christ through faith and patience that she passed down to me and my two brothers
On September 12th, 2018 she breathed her last but to me it's like she never left
When I made my first project
I had the opportunity to make something for her so that she could know how thankful I was
Even when I wasn't around to say it
Now I want to give my one of my best friends the opportunity to honor her mom and be thankful
