No Excuses/Scarred

Yeah
Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, rise and shine
ZJ when's the album coming man? You gotta ease my mind
I can't tell you when it's dropping homie I just take my time
I don't stay up on the gossip I just stay up on my grind
If you see the green dot by my name I'm prolly up
Making moves or making music plus a lotta other stuff
If you don't get a response I prolly saw it but I'm busy
Red dots on my social apps are adding up to 50
Plus my I keep my phone on silent you might have to send a text
Chances are I will respond when I can find the time to check
Please don't even try to call me if you didn't try to check
'Cause I prolly won't pick up unless you talking bout a check
Listen homie I'm on deck, listen homie I got next
I'm not even tryna flex, I put Calvin on my ex
I put ego in the text, steady puffing out my chest
Truth be told I should be dead, truth be told I'm such a wreck
I've been sinning I confess, acting holy living less
Under pressure, under stress, know I failed a couple tests
Got my mind under duress, when she putting on the dress
Pretty girls coming at me, they just want me for the sex
Plus I want 'em for it too, I'm a human just like you
Fight temptation every day I'm fighting hard to make it through
But I can't front like I'm a rookie, homie I have no excuse
He gave me the right to choose, I already have the truth

Ain't got time for no excuses
Got a light that's so exclusive
But it's up to you to choose it
Ain't got time for no excuses
Time to change it's not just music
Watch the fruit your life produces
When you do this, no excuses

No excuses homie, none whatsoever
Took the things they couldn't do then turned 'em round and done 'em better
Tryna take it major league, I might pitch a double header
Cuz I'm always on the ball, cutting up just like a shredder
But beneath all of the flexing there's a story I ain't told
Of the glory and the strife started back at 5 years old
It's a story of my life, it's a story of my goals
It's a story of my fears, it's a story of my home
I been through a lot of trauma, people never have a clue
Going at with my mama, like I have an attitude
I'm not tryna start no drama, I'm not tryna act a fool
I'm just tryna make it out, I'm doing what I have to do
Tryna live my life for God but I'm living for myself
Never happy anymore, that's as if you couldn't tell
I can't take it anymore, but I'm too proud to ask for help
All this pain inside can't be repaired by trophies on the shelf
And I know this in myself, and I know it's all my fault
And I know that it's my choice, I been running from my God
I been living on my own, I been trying my own way
I can't act like I'm not guilty, I have no one else to blame
Ain't got time for no excuses, ain't got time for no complaints
But then what am I to do when I feel broken and ashamed
I been hurt and been abused I feel like dying in my pain
But if that's my first reaction man then Jesus died in vain

Ain't got time for no excuses
Got a light that's so exclusive
But it's up to you to choose it
Ain't got time for no excuses
Time to change it's not just music
Watch the fruit your life produces
When you do this, no excuses

Yeah
Since 14 I've been fighting between the notion
Of hiding away emotion or being completely open
With people I barely know and the people I hold the closest
No difference between the two when communication is broken
It started out with abuse from the people I love the most
Physically it was minimal but the words are what made me choke
I'm looking for your approval, you've got me against the ropes
I started to hate your presence, I was steady losing hope
Called me stupid, called me dumb, you can't ever do it right
You're a baby, you're a girl, go to bed before we fight
You're a liar, you're a rebel, all your sin will come to light
Quit your crying, quit your whining, you just ruined my whole night
I remember 14 laying in down in my bed
Crying tears upon tears till my eyes were turning red
That night I made a promise I would never cry again
It was 3 years before I finally took back what I said
It was 5 years before I finally let it go for good
It was 14 years of holding onto what I could
Of the 5 years prior to the night I had it happen
Only mama still remembers, left me scarred inside the madness
Left me scarred inside the madness
I was holding on to hate, unforgiveness mixed with passion
Telling kids to walk in love but never preaching what I practiced
Till one day the Lord showed me I was only being bitter
People change, we've changed, pain is just a part of living
Who am I to hold a grudge when the Father shows forgiveness
After all I did my share of wrongs and walked without a sentence
I'm not perfect in the slightest I deserve to be judged
For the people I left hanging I deserve to be hung
I guess that that's the reason I could never earn what He's done
Only thing that I can do is just believe it and run
Grace falling on my soul all around me
Scars made whole where my soles and the ground meet
Scars washed away from my heart that were deadly
Scars from the people in my past life who left me
Scars on your legs you remember the story
Scars on my heart you could never heal for me
Scars on your heart once you made it past forty
Fall away as He heals us and we wait in His glory
Scars on my heart you could never heal for me
Scars on your heart once you made it past forty
Fall away as He heals us and we wait in His glory

And I just want you to know I forgive you
And I pray you forgive me as He heals us together
Yeah
