Save the Music
Since music is humanity's greatest achievement
It makes sense that we preserve it
When times get hard and when we get lost
That's when we most need it
And everybody's different
But everyone can hear it
So you can save the whales, you can save the trees
Save the world if you please
But please, save the music
Every town in this country looks exactly the same
A Wetherspoons, the same old coffee chains
An H&M and a Sports Direct
But there's a venue on the edge of town
A place that likes to play the music loud
A place that offers shelter from that bullshit
So you can save your life, you can save your money
Save your kisses for your true love, honey
But please, save the music
I can't imagine a world without any music
To tell you the truth, I'm not sure I'd want to do it
Live a life without a song
And when it's raining Costa Coffee
I tell you now that we're gonna be sorry
Sometimes you don't know what you got
Until it's gone
So you can save your children, you can save yourself
Go right ahead and save everybody else
But please, save the music
Save the stages and the venues
Save the sound and light crew
Save the bar staff and promoters
Save the kid handing out flyers
Save the singer in the band who don't have any fans
But might go on to be the greatest band you'll ever see
Now it falls on us to do it
We have to save the music
It makes sense that we preserve it
When times get hard and when we get lost
That's when we most need it
And everybody's different
But everyone can hear it
So you can save the whales, you can save the trees
Save the world if you please
But please, save the music
Every town in this country looks exactly the same
A Wetherspoons, the same old coffee chains
An H&M and a Sports Direct
But there's a venue on the edge of town
A place that likes to play the music loud
A place that offers shelter from that bullshit
So you can save your life, you can save your money
Save your kisses for your true love, honey
But please, save the music
I can't imagine a world without any music
To tell you the truth, I'm not sure I'd want to do it
Live a life without a song
And when it's raining Costa Coffee
I tell you now that we're gonna be sorry
