It's been three or four months
Five minutes and six years
So much has happened yet so little this year
Time is ticking fast and moving slow
The twenty third of March feels like a lifetime ago
But I remember that evening through the tunnels of time
We put our daughter to bed and poured a glass of wine
And we stayed up all night talking
Second guessing the future
And reminding one another that we've got each other

Tried not to panic, an ambulance was called
And we breathe a little easy, now the vitals are fine
And we're told to sit it out until the fever subsides

A healthy, happy family enjoying each other's company
And everywhere we looked there was more bad news
So we built a playground in the living room

The landlord's on the line
We're getting thrown out of our home
You tried to hide your tears

But this brings up some questions we didn't want to ask
Questions about the future that might contain the past
But we keep our heads screwed on because all is not lost
And if the city doesn't want us, we'll move down to the coast
Following our song, building our nest
