I Was Cold in the Pub

I was cold in the pub though a fire was there
In the hearth, burning low, but I'm cold everywhere that I roam
Everywhere that I roam

I was with all the folks that I'd known for a year
Since I moved to this town for the work in the drear that I roam
The drear that I roam

The first chance that came I decided to sing
All my sins to the sinners to offer to bring where I roam
Wherever I roam

They warmed with applause then I gave some more
Week in, week out, my palm is the floor where they roam
The floor where they roam

After some time I started to see
Some half twisted brains they all had, but not me, but not me
They don't roam like me, roam like me

It was cold in the pub of another old town
Alone in a room with more crazies around where I roam
Around where I roam

I've never met one who I could call a friend
But I hoped, I hoped, for someone who could end my life's roam
To end my life's roam
