The Linear Scaffold
In a time of ancient memories, somewhere in a long forgotten land
People lived in fear, in fear of a death machine
It lived in some organic caves and demanded every month a man
To kill and consume in a cruel way
I will tell you of a man who was chosen to sacrifice his life
For the community. He made his last walk
Then he came to the strange caves where he was seized with horror
The Linear Scaffold
A large machine built from unknown materials
Filled the cave from one side to the other
In dreadful movements, twisting, turning, blood red claws took the lives
In deathlike humility the man took the steps to his tragic fate
The soul given nightmare began to wake up
And the man sent out his last thoughts to his family
The Linear Scaffold, a strange thing from a far dimension, built to rule the land
Until the elder species come again to absorb the vitality of the human race
Producing other ones to populate the earth, disconnecting thoughts and mind to desolate the world
A death squad against civilization
The mind of the man separated from the pain, to get through the death throes
The body lay split in the claw arms. The spark of life saved in the scaffold
For the elder species to feed this life-form. When would this come to an end
Never
A sky full of brightest lights blinds my eyes, I feel so weak
The time has come: not narrator, no, victim
As I raise my thoughts to the elder race, I realize the answer
