Rich Keeble & The More Accomplished Musicians -
I Hope Every Special Day You Have Is Ruined in Some Way
Kids (Seem to Have It so Easy (These Days))
Kids just seem to have it easy these days
When I was young there really wasn't any other way
Of asking a girl out other than phoning her up on her landline
And then her mum or dad or her brother might answer
And it was really embarrassing
Whereas nowadays you can just send a text message
Or WhatsApp or Facebook
Or just a Snapchat of your genitals
Kids just seem to have it easy these days
When I was young there really wasn't any other way
Of getting pornography unless you found some
Down the side of a bus seat
Or maybe you'd find some in a bush or
Get some off one of the older kids at school
But the disadvantage would be that it was always subject
To a significant mark up
Kids just seem to have it easy these days
When I was young there really wasn't any other way
Of letting my mates know where I was if I was late
So I'd have to turn up on fucking time
You know I couldn't just text them a running commentary
Or track their location
They were in the Two Brewers until 9
And if they'd left when I got there
I'd be fucked
Kids just seem to have it so easy these days
Kids just seem to have it so easy these days
Kids just seem to have it so easy these days
Kids just seem to have it so easy these days
With your smart phones, and your internet
Your music streaming, your social media
But I suppose at least my parents couldn't post loads
Of photos of me as a baby on Facebook
Without my permission
And we couldn't get cyber bullied really or anything
Didn't have the pressure to post photos of
How great your life is constantly
Pouting selfies, competitive likes and all that
Revenge porn wasn't really a thing cos
We didn't have digital cameras
Or cameras on our phones
You'd get your photos developed at Boots and they'd come back
With a sticker on them cos they were out of focus or too dark
You'd just go out and leave a note to say what time you'd be back
You could actually be left alone
You wouldn't be contactable
No mobile phone obviously
Maybe it's actually harder for kids now in a way
I mean everyone says the old days were better weren't they,
But that's
Cos you were younger you fools!
Kids just seem to have it so easy these days
Kids just seem to have it so easy these days
Kids just seem to have it so easy these days
Children just seem to have it so easy these days
