Confrontation; collapse of belief, of reality
Both denial and embrace of a numinous dimension
Augment what is seen
But the strongest desires distort
A primitive shield from calamity
Vulnerable apertures
Fleshy, naive

Enabling the distortion of photons;
An exploitation of the limbic and visual systems
An illusion to placate and pacify the mind
Enabling an entire concurrent universe within our own
In which we always nearly exist but that two eyes cannot truly see

Stifling the urge to exhume obscured truths
Punishment for those who choose to look beneath layers

Denouncement, isolation, exile
Come to those who have, glimpses of the chasm, sensed
Vulnerable are the sewn seeds of epigenetic inheritance

A ripple from the edge of the chasm emerges
Peek and your brethren are turned against you
Repugnant outcast, exterminated
