A Letter From the King

Look at our captors who want to take over the world
Especially the short one whose hair is always curled
Look they're so excited it seems they want to sing
What did they receive It is a letter from their king

They're reading every word, with tender loving care
Describing the plans, and what they need to prepare
They're picking on the phrases, to find out what they mean
They hold it with great fear, to keep it so pristine

Oh, a package has arrived, they say it's meant for you
This Torah is intended, for each and every Jew
The Torah is a letter, from the King high above
Mailed to us from Heaven, and packaged with much love

Morasha kehilas Yaakov, Hashem gave us the Torah
We refuse to be their rebbe – refuse to be their morah
Is it tamei or tahor, does He permit, does He forbid
This letter is so precious, I'm so proud to be a Yid

Look at the respect, they are reading it again and again
They want to know each detail: how, what, where, and when
They put it away, replacing every fold
Locking it in the safe, they treat it like gold

We too review our letter, time and time again
We want to know each detail: how, what, where and when
We hold our Torah lovingly, so as not to be remiss
We place it in its aron, while first giving it a kiss

Oh, a package has arrived, they say it's meant for you
This Torah is intended, for each and every Jew
The Torah is a letter from the King high above
Mailed to us from Heaven and packaged with much love

Morasha kehilas Yaakov, Hashem gave us the Torah
We refuse to be their rebbe – refuse to be their morah
Is it tamei or tahor, does He permit, does He forbid
This letter is so precious I'm so proud to be a Yid
