Deep Valor

If in fact I breathe on the flower petals and weeds
They'll surely contract an unforgettable disease
And when I spew phlegm out from my throat into the earth
I hope a new stem sprouts an oath that has worth
And I will repent for abandoning the words I've always meant

But I did not deserve, I did not earn
The power to keep
I may never learn to pray but someday
I will learn to strum the nerves
Of a valor so deep

If there is an entrance to oblivion
Forget me but may my memories be forgiven
And if I see you gawking down at the world through your telescope
I hope you see me, I'll be walking through Hell with an envelope
And there, I will repent for abandoning the words I've always meant

But I did not deserve, I did not earn
The power to keep
I may never learn to pray but someday
I will burn, burn with a valor
A valor so deep

I have often wondered
The ascension, will it come soon
I will wait where it's warmer
Where I can dream and feel everything
Maybe I'll be waiting
Under the gold-drenched moon
