Frederic (part II)

20 years you've been a married man, a common retirement plan, a common house, common dishwasher and a common TV and a common dog and kid, a common daily grid, common couch and a Common pc

A joint bank account, your money safe and sound
Yearly vacation with sun and sand, always in that same land
This soothing routine you found and after two weeks, it's homeward-bound

Frederic
Daily, weekly, monthly, yearly functioning Frederic
20 years no fears, all smiles, no tears and you've never been sick
Perfect Frederic

Big garage, big car
It'll drive you to your supermarket, which is not too far
Once a week you meet your colleagues and you head to the bar
Your career ladder climbing goes pretty smoothly, next thing you know: you're 43

So far you've had an immaculate CV, you were never late
And all the bills are promptly paid and you're absolutely not afraid that your energy could start to fade, that you're not going to make the grade
Always surrounded by the love of your supportive family

Frederic
Constantly tireless and functioning Frederic
Each day of the year you work on your career and the social status is holy and dear
Trying to be a perfect Frederic

One day, oh so suddenly
There's a big downfall of the economy, a crisis with no end in sight and try hard as you might, there's just no way you can fight against all the deadly deadlines in sight
And so it's loans, lawsuits and bankruptcy

You go from two cars to none
All the deals are gone and the credits are undone
This sudden poverty hits you hard, all your rhythms fall apart, now it is you who's the fallen one

Frederic
These troubles make you feel sick
You start to panic, no more smiles, just tears and unrest and fears
Once you were the perfect
Frederic
