Our Country Was Gone

It's after last call and the house lights have come on
We're standing round but our country is gone
It's hard to watch now everybody's on the run
I hate to say it seems the bad guys have won

Nobody blinked
Or stopped to think
When they got into our heads
And won the war

Some tried to warn you of the damage they had done
But you lived your life until our country was gone
I don't want to be here when you're all coming undone
And shoot each other while you're slinging your guns

We sat still
Hypnotized by our devices
Sinking in our vices
Just a little more

You stayed silent
Pathetically compliant
While all our crooked leaders
Planned this war
We clicked on the bait
Until it was too late
And now they're going to rule us
Forevermore

Now we've been played and the worst is yet to come
It's a bad day to know your country is done
Some others saw it
No I'm not the only one
We've let the enemy into our Kingdom Come

They got us to fight
The left against the right
Til we dragged each other down on to the floor

I'll be here
Praying to Jesus
Hoping pretty soon
That He walks through the door
Watchin' Armageddon
From the Kingdom Of Heaven
And stayin' with the LORD
Forevermore

Mothers and fathers
Daughters and sons
