Overlooking Eye

Well I was never much of a hawkeye
Couldn't spot a diamond under my nose
But if you were to mention siftin'
It wasn't likely I'd say no
Though coming home empty handed
Was an often circumstance by me
My empty case on the wall was full of hopes and dreams
So I'd blame it on the ridgeline
For my pockets being dry
But when everyone else had a point to hold
I'd kick the dust toward the sky
And man I might go crazy
If I can't hold a saucer soon
Cause I spend most all my days
Shoveling through the dunes
Diggin' flint when I get stoned
Finding a few bits of bone
I've led astray a thousand times
With my overlooking eye
This tedious hobby
Has got me out to look a fool
Because I waste my time and effort
Still ain't found a worthy jewel
But underneath the rubble
And lying on the ground
I've found a chiseled stone
It's come shining through the clouds
Diggin' flint when I get stoned
Finding a few bits of bone
I've led astray a thousand times
With my overlooking eye
It ain't the sharpest book you'll read
But it's a million dollars to me
For all the hours spent nose deep
I've finally found a relic
That's perfect enough to keep
Diggin' flint when I get stoned
Finding a few bits of bone
I've led astray a thousand times
With my overlooking eye with my overlooking eye
