Kemblesville Soul
I come from the east side of the second state
Then down to the south side where the first one meets
This a place that is grand and bright what can I say
Here we vibe like nothing can ruin a great day
Some people like to live in these great big cities
Catch the vibe of the busy life 'til they're in their sixties
For me at twenty-one though I like to slow down
And there ain't a better place for that than this town
Up to the evergreen, New Balance as my kicks
Spalding in my hand, JBL with my fix
Of beats that keep me rolling like I'm all out of sorts
If you try to step to me, I'll warn ya it's my court
This is the town that made me who I am
From the Wedge to the Grove this is the homeland
And hopefully one day I'll get everyone to see
That there ain't no better place than the evergreen
There ain't no better place than the evergreen
Hey
Get to the homeland
What else can you say
Gonna clear your mind
When you get a chance to stay
Take it all in
The way it's meant to be
Breathe the air in
And then your eyes will see
Have a friend who came down
From another town, hey
Busy on the inside
But he took a short drive
Up and saw this place like it was meant to be
He said "Boy my mind is clean"
Like this the evergreen
And the air is crisp and clean
You don't get this with machines
'Cause this the evergreen, boy
This the evergreen, boy
This the evergreen
Wait a minute, I gotta pick up the pace here
God blessed me to be in this place called the evergreen
A place that has glory, peace and serenity
He blessed the land so hard that the devil came down
And said "I shouldn't touch this beautiful ground"
So when you tell me that I need to focus
On money, fame, wealth, and everything that chokes us
I'll remind you that I come from the homeland
A special land that just a few can understand
So you can keep your fame and you can keep your money
When you laugh at my face, man I don't find it funny
For I know what will happen if you let your pride talk
You'll never see the beauty in the places that you walk
This is the story of the land that I love
A crazy reminder that I'm blessed from above
You might not understand, but I want you to know
God blessed me to live with this Kemblesville Soul
God blessed me to live with this Kemblesville Soul
