The Artist

I would like to speak
For I have something to say
As I look around the room
I see all the walls are gray
I tried to tell the painter
But he'd rather not stray
Then the wall won't match
Perhaps another day

I ask
But are you not an artist
Alas he fears the street
Settles for less, mundane at best
But it puts shoes on his feet

What is he
Who am I
Will we never reach farther than the sky
Don't take it as it comes
Don't ask how or ever why
What you think is in your head
What you see, through your eye

I ask
So this you never knew
He is not the only one
So many die when they're born
For them, I'll never mourn
It's my time to walk or run
