Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a thing you can't find for yourself
Close to pain, and loss, and yet to far for help
We think ourselves protected yet we're wrapped in grief
While our life is moving faster to that ending peak
Sometimes we bear our burdens, friends, and families too
Slap a smile on our face and say we're pulling through
In reality the weight is crushing us inside
A countdown that is ever lurking to thoughts of suicide
So find that thing in life that truly calms your soul
Gets you back in focus, sights set on your goal
Let it take hold of you, so you might elevate
Take your mental state on a quest and let you meditate
When that journeys finally done I hope you found your truth
Different from me to you but still completely true
Crawled into the light escaping Satan's grasp
Almost consumed by all your faults but now you're free at last
So, run my brother run, demons are always close
Don't be devoured by the ones that will ride your coat
Watch the company you keep and those around
Not everyone's wants to see you rise, some'll pull you down
Discerning real from fake is probably the hardest deal
Snakes are in the grass, and constantly concealed
Long as you fall in the end they think they've done their job
Yet within these darkened places are where we find God
