The Words
She walked down to the local bar,
That's the place she could be a star,
And all her friends, were not that far from home,
And all at once, those stars lined up,
She was stricken with golden luck,
She met a friend, whose words were just, Like a poem,
Who would know the words to say?
People like this don't come around every day,
Every day we will pray, hey hey hey,
But who would know the words to say?
My grandfather always spoke with grace,
He had blue eyes and his hair was gray,
He passed away, before I could say goodbye,
His honest words meant something to me,
He sticks around in my memories,
I'll cherish the way he would be, in this life,
No one ever seems to speak words anymore,
It's all text that we read from afar,
We disconnect with selfies filled with smiles,
Across the universe we message away,
Even when we have nothing to say,
We get sick of each other after a while,
That's the place she could be a star,
And all her friends, were not that far from home,
And all at once, those stars lined up,
She was stricken with golden luck,
She met a friend, whose words were just, Like a poem,
Who would know the words to say?
People like this don't come around every day,
Every day we will pray, hey hey hey,
But who would know the words to say?
My grandfather always spoke with grace,
He had blue eyes and his hair was gray,
He passed away, before I could say goodbye,
His honest words meant something to me,
He sticks around in my memories,
I'll cherish the way he would be, in this life,
No one ever seems to speak words anymore,
It's all text that we read from afar,
We disconnect with selfies filled with smiles,
Across the universe we message away,
Even when we have nothing to say,
We get sick of each other after a while,
