Projections

When you look at me, what do you see?
Do you see a person? A playable character?
Would you customize the clothes I wear?
Would you change how I behave?

I'm fine as long as you want to give me pieces of advice
But if you're writing fan fiction about my life for me to follow
Then is you who needs a slice of humble pie

I want light, not projections
I want to see my real self without lenses
Kill the projector
Now I'm the one who glows

Too much thought, introspection
To differentiate me from the character
Kill the projector
Projections can't be as beautiful as me

It's easy to say you know somebody that well
But when does perception end and projection start?

Reality is shaped by many different scripts
Perspectives are limited, you'll need to combine then

I want light, not projections
I want to see my real self without lenses
Kill the projector
Now I'm the one who glows

Too much thought, introspection
To differentiate me from the character
Kill the projector
Projections can't be as beautiful as me

We all want to know who we are
External feedback can bring some light
But only if the light glows to the same color as yours
Else you may be picking someone else's bag of trash
What if you can't recycle that?

I want light, not projections
I want to see my real self without lenses
Kill the projector
Now I'm the one who glows

Too much though, introspection
To differentiate me from the character
Kill the projector
Projections can't be as beautiful as me
