Rise

I have tried so hard to find
What they say is deep inside
So many things I've yet to do
But cannot seem to
Every day keeps going by
Waiting and wasting my time
Look at them rise; many a child
And I'm 22

So let it all out; don't deny
Haven't we all been left behind?
I see it in both your eyes and mine
Disappointment and familiar signs

What matters is just what we do
Even though we don't have a clue
Just try our best, and we'll get through
Maybe one day we'll rise up too

Just when I'm making something real
I know deep down there's no appeal
But does it even matter if
Anyone is listening?
I still see it in daylight
A black dog in a blue disguise
Don't have the will to put it down
It's been with me and is right now

So let it all out; don't deny
Haven't we all been left behind?
I see it in both your eyes and mine
Disappointment and familiar signs

What matters is just what we do
Even though we don't have a clue
Just try our best, and we'll get through
Maybe one day we'll rise up too

It feels like our time's run out
Thrust in a world we know little about
How much longer
Until we look back with regret and realize:
Is this all there is?
Maybe one day
