Crystal River

In October we went on a class field trip
To Crystal River springs
Got on the bus with all my things
And I sat up in the front by the teachers
All the seats were taken
Said they were saving them for a friend
Looked back a while later
And no one was sitting in them

Got to the cabin put our phones in a basket
Now I can't pretend to be busy
I'm alone it's clear to see
Threw my stuff on the bed I could hear the girls laughing
They stayed up til two or three
Played truth or dare but no one asked me to

So I sneak out at night
Tip toeing so that nobody hears me
See the Crystal River flowing
Wish that it could take me home and

Away from all these people
They must think I'm made of stone
But I break like the waves when I'm alone
Crystal River take me home

On the next day we went down to the water
No one wanted to walk with me
So I counted all the leaves

At night we gathered around the fire
Ashes blowing in the breeze
Of the person I never got to be

So I sneak out at night
Tip toeing so that nobody hears me
See the Crystal River flowing
Wish that it could take me home and

Away from all these people
They must think I'm made of stone
But I break like the waves when I'm alone
Crystal River take me

I still feel like the girl from the bus ride
Who sat in the front by the teachers
Under the bleachers at football games
Cause no one wanted to know my name
Why would they?
Why would they anyway

Take me home
Take me home
Take me home
Take me

Away from all these people
They must think I'm made of stone
But I'm like the waves I break cause its
All I know
Crystal River take me home
