The Gleam of The Queen

Slow Saturday
That was his text
My mind wondered what next
I could hear a song which shined the right beacon
Feeling sure this was the right weekend
Envisioning my hand in freedom, it was so clear
That moment that beach
Ooh I wanted to be near
Then a vision of a lady on land
Oh my God did she look ever so grand
Standing tall and proud all in the light Even her smile in the dark you could see at night
Across that sand you could see the gold stitches
Her attitude read she didn't care if she was too big for those britches
While her walk was not perfect it seemed unique
It looked as if no one would be in her rink
I seemed so far from that lady so high
I didn't know her name and I was unwilling to say goodbye
But I could not let that path go dry
What was that tie
Why could she only mouth I
Who was she
Was she me
Dressed from head to toe like the deep sea
Crown sparkling like the water
I had to lean forward and squint my eyes
But I refused to give my hopes up
And called it a lie
She mouthed why
I'll see you later queen
I promise I won't die
