Sunday Morning Ritual

It was dark
My mind wandered to the beach
I could smell the healing waters that I Craved to be at my feet
Better than the infested bed that I Rested my throbbing head on
I swore one night you'd send me Straight to heaven
Each night you knocked everything down
Ripping your bed apart
Pulling more than just sheets
Was this what love felt like always l
Knocked down off my feet
Crown never worn
Been constantly torn
Watching the clock strike midnight to See another day born
Beads of sweat dripping down my Body burning every opening
6 am and the sheets begin to move
It's my rude wake-up call
You thought you were so smooth
Moving back and forth again
Dreaming of my body embraced by the ocean
You ripped me from the water by face Making my dream broken
It was time to flip over
Like I'm your rover
Is it almost over
Finishing up your morning ritual Almost time for you to go
10 minute shower 10 minutes dressed Keys in your pocket
You showed no stress
Locking the door behind you
I sprung into action
I would no longer
Lay in this fatal attraction
The weekend was over and my Temporary freedom was near
Seeing home never looked so clear
I washed up my body
And put on my new face
Hiding the truth
From my mom's loving embrace
