The Boys

The boys met up down at the park
What they discussed, left in the dark
When winds blow cold they should not hide
So do not fear what lurks outside in daytime

So even as the gangsters rolled
He could not hide his one true goal
Of which he claimed was never real
It only served as something to look up to

When all this garbage is around
I hope your spirit can be found
Heard you've been wanderin' round the town
Darlin' I though you were awake
The fire was too intense to take
When all of this gets to hard
Let down your guard

So when the rains came pourin' down
Their only choice was stay in town
When lovebirds left in late July
The cash dried up and no one came to save them

The grass grows green here on our side
So grab a rake and let it shine
They know not what they say
But they know what they do
Babe wouldya look at me
I've got tickets for two now, watch out

When all this garbage is around
I hope your spirit can be found
Heard you've been wanderin' round the town
Darlin' I though you were awake
The fire was too intense to take
When all of this gets to hard
Let down your guard

The boys went home with an unease
Too many folks they had to please
With too much shit put on their plates
Not enough time to cover all their bases

So take this cautionary tale
So that you know how not to fail
Roll with the punches boy
That's all that you can do
Don't you dare look at me
You haven't got a clue now
