One More Silver Dollar

I've got one more silver dollar and it's burning in my pocket
I want to spend it on a photograph that you can fit in your golden locket
That you wear around your neck
This photograph will contain every sunrise, every precious smile
And every night we won't spend together
Consider it a parting gift
Before I have departed
Because I don't know when that'll be
We'll just have to wait and see

My heart is a big red barn that in the winters kept us warm
But it's been beaten and weathered down by a many southern storm
Its red and white paint have been taken north by the wind
And its whole foundation has crumbled to the sea
But consider what it once was, all that it used to be
If it'll be built up again
We'll just have to wait and see

I've got one more silver dollar and it's rusting at the bottom of a wishing well
I guess I'm pretty desperate for a miracle, can't you tell?
My amber waving hair is turning grey
And my lady liberty is walking away from me
She's disappearing in the haze
As she's whispering sé la vie
If we'll ever be together again
We'll just have to wait and see
