The Christmas Ghost

The yuletide fire was burning
I hung up the lights and the wreath
Not a creature was stirring
As night fell upon Christmas eve

I swear that fire was a-blazing
When it happened quick as a flash
Down the chimney to my amazement
Came the Ghost of Christmas Past

Christmas is made up of old memories
Shining bright as the lights on the tree
As I looked into the Christmas ghost's eyes
The little kid in me began laughing inside

The ghost turned the room a warm color
What happened I could not believe
My mother, myfather and my brother
Were here in this room next to me

My mom said, "Drew, stop your playing
Your cousins are waiting downstairs
You know Auntie Sue gets impatient
When we're opening presents down there"

Next thing I knew I was there
And into her front room we came
All my aunts and uncles filled every chair
Laughing and calling my name

Christmas is made up of old memories
Shining bright as the lights on the tree
As I looked into the Christmas ghost's eyes
The little kid in me began laughing inside

When I woke up the fire was ashes
But I felt such Christmas cheer
I hope the ghost of Christmas past
Comes to visit again next year

Christmas is made up of old memories
Shining bright as the lights on the tree
As I looked into the Christmas ghost's eyes
The little kid in me began laughing inside

The little kid in me is still laughing inside
