It's Raining on the Humans!

The world blinked its eyes this morning
And forgot to wake back up
It opened them again to find its lashes crusted shut.
The clouds came without warning and the wind came kicking up.
We waited at our windows while our good shoes gathered dust.

I saw it wash us all away.
It's raining on the humans today.

The sirens are the only city song that still plays on.
The thunderous claps and claps of thunder score a whole year gone.
And the lines between our lives have grown more narrow now,
Than how they were before,

We watched it wash us all away.
It's raining on the humans today.

(Instrumental)

I watched it wash my world away.
And drown out all the humans.

I blinked my eyes this morning and I woke up twenty-four.
The station's new since twenty-two, same route I took before.
The dizzy heights and neon lights,
Gleam brighter now when I step off the One.
And it feels a bit like sun.
