Hopalong
My hands are so damn ugly, cracked, and dry, and they are always cold
My breasts are round and young and beautiful, but my hands are old
So many parts of me to hold It's when you choose my hands I wonder
When this all started I was certain it was absent of a heart
You were a person that I cast to last a moment in the dark
But now you know too much about me
You wrap around me, you pull me under
And I don't understand why you'd choose me
Truth is I still believe that you'll use me
But I've been wrong about you every time before
And the problem with age is that it's ending
How long can I carry on pretending
That somehow I could be
Different from the others
We're not what I thought
And do I wonder when we'll set?
Will we set when it's warm again?
When you can see the pretty girls and all their smiles
They've been hidden 'neath the fabric of a year that's never-ending
It's been going on a long and lonely while
With hands, I've found
It seems the problem lies between the palms.
They feel more naked than my naked body when our breathing calms
And we are laying there together
And I begin to worry for the fall
No I don't really think that you'd choose me
you won't stumble or grieve when you lose me
And I'm sure you've been here many times before.
Well I need to believe that you need me
only so much these days makes me happy
and you have somehow been different from the others
You're not what I thought

Well I need to believe that you need me

and you have somehow been different from the others
You're not what I thought
