Every Rabbit Is Crushed

This bottle of scotch won't last long in my trembling hand
I knew they'd be trouble as soon as I bought the land
So much of my life has been spent dreaming of this day
When every last one of them dead in the garden lay

Friends and lovers have died
All the birds have been hushed
All my tears have been cried
Every rabbit is crushed

So many bleak memories filling my weary mind
The time I got kicked in the eye and went nearly blind
That day thirteen dozen surrounded the garden shed
The subsequent damage to my nerves was permanent

Friends and lovers have died
All the birds have been hushed
All my tears have been cried
Every rabbit is crushed

I honestly thought I'd expire before the pests
But luck and a keen sense of purpose have served me best
Seems now that they've gone I have little worth fighting for
I'll have to abandon this place to forget the war

Friends and lovers have died
All the birds have been hushed
All my tears have been cried
Every rabbit is crushed
Every rabbit is crushed
Every rabbit is crushed
