Growing Older

I've got memories
But they don't really keep me warm
But they're good to have around
I've been lots of places
They were pretty good places to be
But they were just another place to rest my weary head
Oh the future's for the young
It's hard enough to live in the present these days
We'd all be richer than princes
If growing older really paid
But it just slowly takes my breath away

My body is weak but it still gets me around
But it's growing weaker every day
You say grey suits me
That I look a little bit distinguished
Well that's nice of you to say
But the future's for the young
And it's hard to live in the present these days
The past is another country
That I don't really want to go back to again
Oh but living today simply takes my breath away
