5 O'Clock
It's 5 o'clock
Gotta get out of bed
The windows dark and it's spinning my head
Wake up the phone what do I see
An email from her majesty
Gotta get to work I'm looking for a shirt
Feeling a bit on high alert
I'll pet that cat
Do a pocket check
Pull out the keys
Look like a wreck
Hit the road of reality
To the place I go where nobody is free
Keeping the wheel nice and straight
I wasn't asleep 'til far too late
I look around and what do I see
Everybody on the road in misery
The sun ain't up but I had to laugh
They probably at least get a time and a half
Hey all I want to do is smile
But I can't when it's this early
I do it to move on up up up
But right now I'm in a hurry
Whip the wheel into the corner
Could have been in bed with a new disorder
Check the clock I'm running behind
I'm missing the days of the peace of mind
Driving around looking for a spot
And I made a good lunch that I soon forgot
Back up the truck into the lines
I welcome myself to the paradigm
First one in feeling underdressed
I'm wondering how I'm into this mess
Gotta get it done and do what I can
Trying to feel like it's not all bad
Starting to feel like a panicked guy
How in the hell am I gonna survive?
We're empty lives that's how it goes
Or it's all in my head I do suppose
Hit the road of reality
We take the bait, I do you see
Everyone else is gonna relate
So keep the wheel nice and straight
Digging down for that inner drive
To keep the nose from taking a dive
At 5 o'clock I'm in misery
But I'll make it out I guarantee
Hey all I want to do is smile
But I can't when it's this early
I do it to move on up up up
But right now I'm in a hurry
Hit the road of reality
We take the bait, I do you see
Everyone else is gonna relate
So keep the wheel nice and straight
Digging down for that inner drive
To keep the nose from taking a dive
At 5 o'clock I'm in misery
But I'll make it out I guarantee
Make it out I guarantee
