The Departed

Always been a "ride or die" kinda guy
Man, I knew you for a long time...
And I wish sometimes I'd written this song
While you were still alive, before you passed on...

Cuz the difference between is hope in a sad song...
And I'll admit I could be wrong,
But if my past has taught me anything...
Actions are everything...

I wish I had a chance to tell you...
That even from a distance you were missed dude...
The "what if's" and regrets are filling my head
And I'm trying to find a lesson in this tragedy instead...

Were not getting out of here alive
But I refuse to go until it's my time...
And it's a crime and a travesty
All the victims to the wickedness of humanity

If it were up to me... I'd set the whole world free
From everything that holds you down, makes you frown
Steals your shine, or makes you cross a line...
If it were up to you, I know that you would too...
But i can only save me, and maybe one day,
I'll find that peace that started this journey in the first place...

Pain, sometimes it hurts to explain...
Living off experience like
Up from the ruins
Mentally locked up, crushing my brain

Leading to a gateway, fanning the flames, what a shame...
But I don't really care, everytime I turn around, hurt and despair
It ain't fair, but who said life was, I was there, when they pulled the plug
Always look before you judge, just because

Never underestimate the fate of reality
Humanity
Elevate your sanity
Vanity, pride, prejudice and
Always scratch the surface
Was it really worth it
Close the curtains, let us pray everyday
Nobody knows when it's time to pass away

If it were up to me... I'd set the whole world free
From everything that holds you down, makes you frown
Steals your shine, or makes you cross a line...
If it were up to you, I know that you would too...
But i can only save me, and maybe one day
I'll find that peace that started this journey in the first place...
