Sunset Chasers

There's a cemetery on the hill
The stones have the best view in the county
If you go by at dusk you'll see strangers
Sitting on blankets
Acting like neighbors
The sunset chasers

I might wanna be one of them someday
Let the lightning bugs disperse my cloud of grey
I wanna see the world through their eyes
Be comforted by a spirit painted sky

There's a playground behind the old church
Children running with the spark I used to have
Their crowns ups pick em up
And hold them as though they're saying
I'll be here when you need to be saved
Night or day

I might wanna be one of them someday
Let the love and laughs disperse my cloud of grey
I wanna see the world through their eyes
Comforting a piece of me when she cries

Today I stopped my car by the cemetery
Watched the clouds swirling over the valley
Breathed in my town
And wondered why
I didn't feel
Anything
