Am I Still Lovely to You?
I see elders in pain, see them walking in canes
See them losing some of their mental functions in their brain
Others I see with no sprains, dancing laughing no shame
The ones that are healthy and travel round the world riding planes
I'm scared of aging but I can't stop time it goes
Faster with every year I can't just make it slow
I want to learn how to keep all my youth intact
Life has no option for playback
Even when my knees weaken
And my back keeps aching
And my face starts wrinkling
Am I still lovely to you
Even when my strength's fading
And my movement's slowing
And my health's declining
Am I still lovely to you
I used to be able to carry my elegance
Now I find it harder to keep my appearances
I guess you just want me to tell you you're beautiful
So tell me the same that I'm handsome as usual
I just want to wear the same clothes that made me
Light up your eyes so that you call me your baby
Back then I could just move and vibe so easily
Dancing and laughing so frequently
Even when my knees weaken
And my back keeps aching
And my face starts wrinkling
Am I still lovely to you
Even when my strength's fading
And my movement's slowing
And my health's declining
Am I still lovely to you
Am I still lovely to you
You still look the same to me
Tell me is that good or bad
You're still lovely don't be sad
Am I still lovely to you
Are those lies or are those truths
Let's just dance under these stars
We shall never be apart
See them losing some of their mental functions in their brain
Others I see with no sprains, dancing laughing no shame
The ones that are healthy and travel round the world riding planes
I'm scared of aging but I can't stop time it goes
Faster with every year I can't just make it slow
I want to learn how to keep all my youth intact
Life has no option for playback
Even when my knees weaken
And my back keeps aching
And my face starts wrinkling
Am I still lovely to you
Even when my strength's fading
And my movement's slowing
And my health's declining
Am I still lovely to you
I used to be able to carry my elegance
Now I find it harder to keep my appearances
I guess you just want me to tell you you're beautiful
So tell me the same that I'm handsome as usual
I just want to wear the same clothes that made me
Light up your eyes so that you call me your baby
Back then I could just move and vibe so easily
Dancing and laughing so frequently
Even when my knees weaken
And my back keeps aching
And my face starts wrinkling
Am I still lovely to you
Even when my strength's fading
And my movement's slowing
And my health's declining
Am I still lovely to you
Am I still lovely to you
You still look the same to me
Tell me is that good or bad
You're still lovely don't be sad
Am I still lovely to you
Are those lies or are those truths
Let's just dance under these stars
We shall never be apart
