Paul’s Prayer (Ephesians 1)

I have never stopped giving thanks to God for you
I remember you in all my prayers
And I ask the God of our Lord Jesus Christ
To give you His Spirit by His might
He will make you wise and reveal God to you
So that you will love Him always

And I ask that your minds may be open to see His light
So that you will know that there is hope
To which He has called you
To what you should do
How rich are God's blessings in store for you
And how very great is His power at work in you and me
Those who believe in God truly

Cause this power working in us
Is the same as the mighty strength
Which He used when He raised His sons from death
God seated Him at His right side in the heavenly world
Christ rules, praise Him all creatures that have breath

I ask God from the wealth of His glory to give you strength
To be strong in your inner selves
That Christ will make His home in your heart through faith
That you may have your roots in love
That you may understand how broad and long
How high and deep is Christ's love
And yes, I pray that you may come to know this love
Although it can never be fully known

And so be completely filled with the very nature of God
So that we may be pure in heart
And I thank God that while we were spiritually dead
He brought us to life through Christ's love

And this power working in us
Is the same as the mighty strength
Which He used when He raised His sons from death
God seated Him at His right side in the heavenly world
Christ rules, praise Him all creatures that have breath

And to Him who by means of His power working in us
Can do so much more than we can ask or even think of
To God be the glory in Christ Jesus and in the church
For all time, forever and ever
For all time, forever and ever
For all time, forever and ever
