No Place Like Home

Down by the river where the wildflowers grow
A ladybug finds herself at home
And down past the bushes, where no one can see
A man is peeing on a tree
A couch covered in duct tape
Is nestled on the beach
By the fire where he drinks himself to sleep

Where birds and bugs and bees are free to roam
People are forced to make a home
The cold city streets are no place to fall asleep
So off to the woods he must go

Up in the mountains where the grasses grow long
A cricket sings himself a song
And way through the hills, past the train tracks
You'll find a family living in a shack
There love in their hearts
But theres holes in their walls
So people say they have nothing at all

Where birds and bugs and bees are free to roam
People are forced to make a home
The cold city streets are no place for family
So off to the woods they must go

Down by the lake where the waters heal
A seagull is searching for a meal
And right at the shoreline, behind the jagged rocks
A sad lady is sitting with her dog
She pretends to be blind
And sleeps on the stones
So people will leave her alone

Where birds and bugs and bees are free to roam
People are forced to make a home
The cold city streets are no place for her to be
So off to the woods she must go
Off to the woods she must go
