Explanation

Equanimity
According to Buddha's teaching
Is a mind of equilibrium
Which is neither mentally depressed by
Adversity nor mentally exalted by favourable conditions

We all experience eight categories of conditions
Called Atthalokadhamma
Known as the eight wordly winds which consist of
Loss and gain
Fame and infamy
Praise and blame
Happiness and pain

By practising equanimity in our daily life
We will gradually have the capacity to not
Be caught with these eight conditions
And what impact it might have on us
While still continually
Living moment to moment
From what we know
Nothing is eternal
Impermanence lives within our life

However
Equanimity is not to be equated to indifference
Equanimity is described as a sense of
Non-attachment to the ongoing phenomena
But at the same time has a sense of
Clarity, care and attentiveness to others
Indifference is an unwholesome state
Which shows a lack of concern
For others or the circumstances
