Wolf Mountain

In this fallen world
I found a light in the dirt
It took me away
To a place with no hurt
So i tilled the earth
Til it yeilded a word
I listened in close
And it sang like a bird

So with all this hope
With all this fear
I pray to the sky
For what ive been waiting to hear

But ive been up on wolf mountain
I felt the earth as it shook
And as the lord turned away
I had a foot in the brook
And ive heard the soft whisper
Of the children of eden
I found the original sin
Up on wolf mountain

In the holes in the hills
Where the brave boys they dug
I spoke with the ghosts
That died in the flood
I heard tales of the ark
I heard tales of the rain
I saw the old world
And their forgotten pain

And when jericho fell
I suppose there was a time
Where the soldiers on the wall
Cried god save my life

But ive been up on wolf mountain
Where the evergreen grew
And i wont write of the old world
Until i find something new
And the days drag on
And i sit here alone
Til someone comes up wolf mountain
And carves me from the stone
