Retriever

Jaw tight
Hands closed
Chest bloom like a whirlpool seeking control

That chill
Been here before
Good wolf
Growing small
Point of view, alien

Ill-equipped
Loathing strong
See the sharks
Circling round
They must smell blood that's running cold

Quick! Think of methods to avoid their approach
Watch your voice, keep it very low
Better yet; might not want to look
Be careful! The wrong move will simply be the end of you!

Splay your fingers on the wall!
You can turn on your heels
But as you grin over your should'
It overtakes, out of view

Wait

What's that in the window? Staring down at me
Oh. A retriever, regular house breed
I'll be back again tomorrow, same time in the eve
Assuming, that in between nothing goes

You're here, I'm glad you came
Been years since we both been in the same place
Hazy on the details, but I know the feeling
You been well? Have I changed?

Warm in and out my body though I can't quite explain
This very well could've been the whole point of pain
Look at all this imagery I can't conceive!
Look at how this became a masterpiece!
