What about the scars that come with it?
Wearing long sleeves don't mean they're gone they're just hidden

So many bridges built over the voids of what went missing
With a solid brave face hiding pain from the peers to witness
An unwritten law that life chose for me to live by
Notice at the age of fifteen getting caught in a riptide where my life changed
No choice but to swerve up in the right lane
Weight up on my shoulders as I struggle to keep my mind sane
All kinds of pain overshadowing my endeavors
Parents split mum got sick so I stepped up as a young adolescent
A victim of depression without even myself knowing it
But there was too much at stake to be upset let alone showing it
Too young to even comprehend expressing what emotion is
But prioritizing others before myself is just how I roll with it
I hold it down for my cousin Ashleigh and my two Gs Ctalyo and Pelican
Each took a part of me in their ascension above the clouds
Now they looking down cause their beautiful souls were heaven sent
Losing loved ones beyond this life is a promise that we can never change
As long as the memories live on forever attached like a cuban link to a chain
They say time heals the wounds but the scars will always remain
But I use all of that as motivation instead of dwelling inside of all the pain
