War Path

The leeches emancipate
The darkest side of my brain
And let the beast stumble forth

The sadness evaporates
Imaginary accolades
A demon on it's course

A vicious and evil hand
Takes a swipe at the land
Terraforms with terrible men

On the last boat
Or left behind
Swam back to shore
When I lost my mind
Gave up who I was
And I paid the price
Feel the volcano
Swelling up inside

The deceiver without a name
A gift that controls our fate
A power that can't be undone

A desolate ruined place
Destroyed by a new face
Led them all to chaos here

Hubris thy name is death
Revenge and the consequence
A sullen army licks its wounds

I can't be
The only one
A wayward son
Follows the same path
That I was on

No way to escape my fate
I find myself at the blackest gate

I can't look back
No plan of attack

My eyes glow red
As I find to way to grow again

No turning back
My battle's not done

I must sacrifice
And finish what I've begun

The light from the trees
That flows through me
Begets uncertain necessity

The giver of gifts be damned
The same vicious evil hand
I'll bide my time and take a stand

The path is now laid before
One that leads us to war
We'll let the beast show his form

Part of this world
Decided to stay
The shores to the west
Will have to wait
Another day

No turning back
The battle's not won

I must sacrifice
And finish what I've begun
