DENOUEMENT

I was a willing captive
Of my own synapses
Slogging through molasses
In a life too passive
Woven in it's fabric
All my toxic habits
Like a thousand lashes
With a coat with acid

This place once was sacred ground
Now face the conflagration as the meteors start raining down

Time's escaping
And my mind is racing
To a destination
That is always changing
I have only tasted
Of the shriveled raisins
I'm emaciated
I can't reach the grapes but
The harvest is looming
Doubt will not consume me
The current is moving
I feel it flow through me

This place once was sacred ground
Now face the conflagration as the meteors start raining down
Salt the earth and drain the sound
Genuflect for the denouement

Playing the role
Of a bitter soul
Afraid to be whole
And yield to the pull

This place once was sacred ground
Now face the conflagration as the meteors start raining down
Salt the earth and drain the sound
Genuflect for the denouement

Witness the ending
The last journal entry
My conscience is ready
Awaiting on bent knee
