On this road of brightness and darkness intertwined
I see the pages of this chapter closing in front of my eyes
I see a cage, I see pain and sadness on a side
And on the other I see pretty flowers and butterflies
I was dragged into all of this negativity
Painted my world black, always letting the worst get to me
Arguments in the past, they gon fade away eventually
Conflicts and doubts, they the key of success essentially

And I know
We near the end of road
But I hope you understand all the lessons I've told
Let the past stay in the past, and improve yourself
It's water under the bridge and that's why these thoughts stay afloat
Shifted my focus to the smallest of things
I should've realized that everyone's got something to change
We all got something to work on, I can't waste time to think
If these thoughts come back and bite me, I ain't gon run away

This past year gave me something I'll remember
I discovered trust, my homies, they know me better
I discovered love, I don't think I'm gonna tell her
Cuz I know she got somebody, but I can't seem to forget her
I don't wanna think again, I wanna focus on my music
Put my heart and soul into every sentence, spread a message
My soul was in the past, I left my body in the present
Didn't see why it's a gift, it only left me reminiscing

And I know
Those times are over, I'mma let it go
In a few years, I hope I still do so
Insecurities helped me to be in security
Cuz everybody plays the cards they're dealt like it's Uno
Nobody's free from blemishes, yeah I can't deny
You can't let these little voices in your head amplify
Stop tryna compare yourself to other people
You'll wonder if you should chase your dreams or not, and you can't decide

And I love you all
I finally said it
Words only surface to the floor when the hourglass ceases to pour
We got a time limit
I'mma try my best not to overthink anymore
I was staying up till three, always feeling worried
I'm getting back to bed at ten, gotta wake up early
I been through many failures but I been learning surely
It's been a long journey
