Chemical Imbalance

Well I'm a straight white male from the USA
I led a hella charmed life from the very first day
My mother and father taught me right from wrong
Picked up a punk rock guitar, I'm playing punk rock songs
You know I followed in the blueprint, got a few degrees
From expensive liberal art universities
Unconditional support from my family and friends
They pick me up when I fall every time and again
But people make me feel lonely when I'm not alone
Sometimes I feel out of place in this place I call home
Cause they just smile and nod when I try to explain
About this chemical imbalance decaying my brain

So they ask you how you're doing
And you lie right to their face
About how you can't carry on
In this godforsaken place

Everything just falls apart
And the beauty and the memories
