Rich

We got an apartment
On center avenue
With whitewashed walls & wooden floors
It's custom built for two
And we might not have a table or a bed frame
We'll make do
No one's ever been as rich as me and you

We drink sparkling water
As if it were champagne
And toast ourselves to all our wealth
Like "here's to happy days"
Oh our credit card's in debt
Because the rent here is insane
But there's nothing that I would trade for me and you

I'm not trying to deny
All the things money can buy
Wouldn't it be nice

But we've got time enough to spend
Yeh we still got our whole lives yet
So maybe down the line

We'll be so much older
Buying fancy shoes
And catching cabs with shopping bags down Melrose avenue
And we'll toast ourselves to all our wealth
Like "look how much we grew"
Yeh no one's ever been as rich as me and you
