August Wind
So, this is how it goes, that time all lost is over love that shows
That, though you've striven to deceive, I can see beyond the pose
I came to love at cost, but 'tis a cost that was deserved
An influential loss, yet, from that root, I never would have swerved
I have seen so deep, deeper than the other go
And, even if they see you in your sleep, they'll never know
We have understood, as one, the life, the love, and those within
Upon your face you had such satisfaction in your grin
But, now I see your eyes-such life they once had held
The fire burned and I had been twice more compelled
So, subtle is the loss, the loss I endure still
And lying shall be hanged
When it's defeated by my will
Over every shore and every dune of time before
I can hear the Countess Moon, who was, but nevermore
And mountains draw the sea so close about its feet
The winds of change so call me to the passage of the fleet
Go
Yet, outward goes the ship of life as far as it will go
The sea with maids and sharks is rife, and this the sailors know
And, now again the sea will foam, encroaching on its bounds
Afloat, the ship will duly roam, atop the hills and blackish downs
How so, for life to never end?-the truth is fear we face
Forever it's around the bend, encompassing embrace
So, though the trees were tall and thin and beautiful and full of Think
They could snap in August wind and topple off the faulty brink
That, though you've striven to deceive, I can see beyond the pose
I came to love at cost, but 'tis a cost that was deserved
An influential loss, yet, from that root, I never would have swerved
I have seen so deep, deeper than the other go
And, even if they see you in your sleep, they'll never know
We have understood, as one, the life, the love, and those within
Upon your face you had such satisfaction in your grin
But, now I see your eyes-such life they once had held

So, subtle is the loss, the loss I endure still
And lying shall be hanged
When it's defeated by my will
