The Greater Journey (Where We All Must Walk Alone)

When I saw a mountain
In the great Antarctic
My frozen mind ran clear
I climbed to the top
And then yelled at the sun
Saying why'd you leave me here
He left me alone
Left me alone
Since he turned on his heels
And then took the ideals
That I'd held so close before
What could I do but fall asleep as the view
Didn't light up anymore
It all fell away
All fell away
But snow falls down at midnight
Like it always does
Whether I'm here in the dim light crying or not
It all feels the same maybe just a little colder
So I'll pick myself up and then act a little older
And then
Where are we then
Tried to cross the southern ocean on a kayak that I rented
Where the hull still had a crack
Figured it was better than simply trying to swim it
And I didn't have much to pack
It sunk anyway
Sunk anyway
I watched it go down as I swam back to shore
Another ship to decompose
Imagine it'd turn on the deep ocean floor
To a new sea urchin's home
Until it decayed
'Til it decayed
But snow falls down on the tides
Like it always does
Whether I'm here on dry land crying or not
It all feels the same maybe just a little colder
So I'll pick myself up and then act a little bolder
And then
Where are we then
But snow falls down at midnight like it always does
Whether I'm here in the dim light crying or not
It all feels the same maybe just a little colder
So I'll sit back and wait for the eye of the beholder
And then
Where are we then
