The way that a protein is folded
Can cause us to live or can cause us to die
Our knowledge expands ad infinitum
Empirical data cannot be denied
A rolling ball continues rolling
An object in motion is never at rest
And when forces stop it it stays stopped
So obvious that I would never have guessed

The first law of thermodynamics
Work becomes heat energy is conserved
Potential is spent through kinetic
The second law proves we get what we deserved
Energy can't be created
And nothing created is nothing destroyed
Order degrades into chaos
Disorder and entropy we can't avoid

The lack of a proof isn't proof of a lack
You can't take this from me I'm taking it back
The need for convincing has been minimized
Failure to be satisfied criticized

And sadly your dogma revolves around you
Explanations must be simple
The simplest conclusion must always be drawn
The rules always have their exceptions
If nothing is proven then nothing is wrong

The theory you love is the one you support
That won't be enough for me I demand more
The value of evidence won't be reduced
Won't settle for less I will not be seduced
