Loved & Lost

Chapter 1
From the instant that I had gripped the mic
I could see sense she was the different type
Intention was to get lit tonight
But these women be like my kryptonite
I'm not no "Mr. right," nah Mr Right Now
My lifestyle is quite wild
Im steady yellin, "tell em turn my mic loud!"
She liked how I waited before I made my slow approach
Said "I ain't sober at all baby, on you I could overdose"
I dont overindulge on ladies, but I been goin so hard lately
Need a strong independent woman only findin em all crazy
She pulled me closer held me like the soldier holds a pistol trigger
Told her from the opener I'm just a smoker with pickled liver
Jokin while we sipping liquor, I was diggin her style
I said "the time is now love, let's try to figure this out"
I gotta gig in about - ehh, 20 hours give or take
But I've also gotta a reputation for being a few minutes late
So let me stimulate, let's slip away & blaze some trees
Others be imitatin, not me - I penetrate it deep
Since 18 I been chasing dreams, life on the road
And I'm not the type to be likin this but my nights I'm alone
Yo I'd like you to know, some say I'm just a stoner with tight flows
When the sun rises Im gone, so let's just see where tonight goes"
(She thinkin...)

Chapter 2
But now she tell me staying wide awake is crucial
We try to do the usual
But truthfully it dont even get us high the way it used to
There was a time when we was neutral
Minds naive & youthful
Before I came to realize all my kindness wasn't mutual
Now thru dilated pupils I view this beautiful heartbreak
Thousands fishes were you scuba but far fewer in shark tanks
I'm a musical car chase, with an unusual large taste
For the fruit up in the garden we all been forbidden to partake
Between a rock & a hard place - she say

OK I know some of it was my fault I was drunk & high all the time
No wonder I was punching holes thru dry wall
I'm by no means innocent, can be a stoned, mean, hypocrite
Our love could've flowed free infinite
In stead of a slow stream trickling
And now I'm sitting here missing you, wishin I was kissin you
Or we could talk face to face like in an interview
Thought I found a love supreme my boys called it bitches brew
She say we need to take a break, I hope it's just an interlude
But when I tell my inner-crew

But I still thought that maybe

Chapter 3
But they say it's always quiet up in the eye of the storm
& You can't survey the damage until it finally moves on
But by the time that's it gone, before long, you to start to rebuild
And find the peace within
When the winds calm & waves begin to be still
Some days I getta deep chill, and feel a bit nostalgic
But I learned that chasin cheap thrills
Only turns into a challenge
Now I'm searchin for some balance
Don't you find it mysterious
You hafta get hurt when it counted, in order to learn from experience
