Seasonal Quartet

High in the mountains, there melts the snow
A river trickles down, the Earth begins to grow
Brown turns to green, new life from death
The Earth stretches out, and takes a deep breath

This is the seasonal quartet
Oooh, rolling on
Painting vivid sunsets
Oooh, as time goes on

The days grow longer, she is a-bloom
With a bright floral gown, and a heady perfume
As it bakes the sand, the sun's rays sweep
The Earth offers riches: blooms and fruit so sweet

This is the seasonal quartet
Oooh, rolling on
Painting vivid sunsets
Oooh, as time goes on

She breathes out a sigh, sending leaves flying
Another summer gone, her efforts conspiring
To make her final offering: the bounty of the land
The colours fade away; she rests her painter's hand

Soon comes time to ease and wait
Soon the earth may face her fate
When her longing sighs, can't be ignored
And rest will be her reward

She brings down a blanket; freezes waterfalls
And holds all the creatures; in her wintery walls
Snowflakes glisten, diamonds in her veil
Frost filigrees branches in fine detail

This is the seasonal quartet
Oooh, rolling on
Painting vivid sunsets
Oooh, as time goes on
This is the seasonal quartet
Oooh
Painting vivid sunsets
Oooh
