Stuck In a Bad Place

I've been stuck in a bad place for quite some time now
Not the kind of place where you cry sometimes
And you take deep breaths
The kind of place where your eyes have a permanent layer of fog covering them
The kind of place where your friends worry, and you worry too

So I tell myself it's all in my head
Well, of course it's all in my head, that's the problem
I can't solve it by moving
Or cutting my hair
Or tracing my skin
Or flattening my heart out with a rolling pin
Or destroying myself with art, painting blood red
It's all in my head
It's all in my head
It's all in my head

It's this bad place
The kind of place where you look at your reflection
And then you buy a new reflection
Because you can't recognize the other one
The kind of place where home isn't a word
Where home is a concept that you don't understand
Maybe if you wander until your feet blister you'll feel comfortable

It's a bad place
I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy
So truly, I wouldn't wish this on myself
It's a bad place
